FAQ:
- Do i have the option not to take this?
- The lab courses are an integral part of the curriculum where relevant knowledge and skills are developed. It is important that all students are within the same network setup, and undergo a standardized training and learning experience, which allows monitoring, assessment and evaluation.
- Why is there an additional fee for some lab courses (Year 3) and not in other lab courses (Year 1 and Year 2)?
- The Year 3 laboratory courses are specialized and go in depth into the training and exercises of the technical skills required by the course to meet its learning objectives. It requires exposure to various software and applications which traditionally involves access to specialized computer hardware and infrastructure. For the online set-up of MMDC, the best and an even better alternative is a virtual lab, that is CloudSwyft. This type of virtual and cloudbased labs though comes with a fee, thereby the additional lab fee for these advanced, year 3 courses.
- Why is there a separate lab fee for each course?
- Each lab course has a unique set of learning competencies, technical skills and software requirement as required by the curriculum. Because of this, each lab course will have its own unique curricular design and laboratory set-up.
- P2,080 per lab course is quite expensive. Is there an alternative?
- MMDC has done a thorough review of third party qualified providers, and have chosen and negotiated with the best and most cost-effective provider. Cloudswyft provides the most feasible integration with our curriculum and learning objectives. It allows customization of the learning experience so MMDC learners can engage in hands-on exercises designed to prepare them for the workplace aligned with their specialization.
- This is out of my budget and I was not able to plan for this in advance, what is my option?
- We understand that this requires some adjustment from our learners. However, we believe that this is a necessity and provides the most accessibility, flexibility and preparation that aligns with MMDC's set-up and curricular objectives. One possibility is to take only the number of units and lab courses that will fit your current financial capacity. While this may result to additional term/s, we recognize that good and proper training do need to take time. Please allow us to extend our appreciation for your understanding and openness on this matter.
We believe that this experience will greatly enhance your training and better prepare you for the IT industry.
