What Happens If I Fail the Coursera Integrity Check?

This article explains what happens if your Coursera submission fails an Integrity Check and outlines your responsibilities as a learner.

If you fail the Coursera Integrity Check, you are responsible for reaching out to your mentor to address the issue promptly. A failed integrity check does not automatically result in disciplinary action, but it does require immediate attention.

What You Need to Do

1. Contact your mentor as soon as possible after receiving the Integrity Check notification.
2. Be prepared to explain your submission and provide context on how the work was completed.
3. Cooperate fully during the review process.

What Happens After Review

After discussing the case, your mentor may:

• Allow a resubmission, or
• Request a revision of the work

The outcome depends on the mentor’s assessment of the submission and supporting explanation.
