The Outstanding Working Students of MMDC (TOWS of MMDC) Award is a recognition program that honors students who successfully juggle academics and work while making a positive impact in school, their workplace, community, or industry. This award celebrates individuals who embody excellence, leadership, exceptional character and dedication, proving that hard work and education can go hand in hand.
Recognition Ceremony on March 21, 2025
In recognizing the efforts of working students, MMDC is also celebrating National Working Students Day (NWSD). As we celebrate the first-ever National Working Students Day on March 21, 2025, we are proud to launch The Outstanding Working Students of MMDC (TOWS of MMDC) Award.Through this award, we aim to inspire fellow students, highlight the incredible journeys of MMDC’s working learners, and showcase the real-world application of education in the workforce.
More than just an award, TOWS of MMDC is a platform to uplift and empower working students by providing them with well-deserved acknowledgment, motivation, and opportunities to grow professionally.

Why and How to Apply for The Outstanding Working Students of MMDC Award
If you are balancing both work and academics, this is your opportunity to be acknowledged for your dedication and achievements. To apply for The Outstanding Working Students of MMDC (OWS-MMDC) Award, simply submit a portfolio that showcases how you manage your work and studies while making a positive impact in your workplace or community. This portfolio should demonstrate your leadership, commitment, and ability to excel in both your professional and academic endeavors. By applying, you’ll not only receive well-deserved recognition but also inspire your fellow students and gain valuable experience that can boost your professional profile.
📌 How to Apply: Portfolio Submission Guide
Step 1: Prepare Your Portfolio
Your portfolio must include clear proof that you meet the 10 eligibility criteria to qualify for the TOWS of MMDC Award. You may submit a combination of documents, images, videos, or testimonials that showcase your qualifications.
Step 2: Organize Your Portfolio
Arrange your portfolio in a Google Drive folder and include:
📌 A Cover Page – Your name, MMDC student ID, course, and a brief personal statement (max 200 words) about your work-study journey.
📌 A Table of Contents – Listing the eligibility criteria and corresponding proof for each.
📌 Files & Documentation – All supporting documents, screenshots, testimonials, or media files properly labeled.
Step 3: Submit Your Portfolio
📅 Deadline: The Monday before the National Working Students Day Celebration
For 2025, the deadline is on March 17, 2025.

Ensure viewing permissions are set to allow access to anyone from the Mapua Malayan Digital College Organization.
Step 4: Evaluation & Announcement
✔ Portfolios will be reviewed by a selection committee based on completeness, impact, and alignment with MMDC’s values.
✔ Finalists will be notified 2 days after the submission deadline and invited to the Recognition Ceremony during Hustle & Thrive on March 21, 2025.
🔹 10-point Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for The Outstanding Working Students of MMDC (TOWS of MMDC), applicants must meet the following criteria and provide proof through a portfolio submission:
Academic Commitment & Performance
1️⃣ Currently Enrolled at MMDC – Must be a consisten enrollee and an active MMDC student at the time of application.
(Proof: Screenshot of student portal)
2️⃣ Actively Employed or Managing a Business – Must be working part-time, full-time, freelancing, or running a business.
(Proof: Employment ID/ Certificate of Employment/ business permit/ freelancing portfolio employment documents/ photos)
3️⃣ Good Academic Standing – No failing grades in all courses taken so far.
(Proof: Screenshot of grades or transcript from Camu.)
Work-School Balance & Dedication
(Proof: Personal essay or work-study schedule/ letter or reviews from work/ employer, business testimonials, or client reviews)
4️⃣ Demonstrates Effective Work-Study Balance – Shows the ability to manage both responsibilities successfully.
5️⃣ Strong Work Ethic & Commitment – A positive record in the workplace or business, with good feedback from employer, clients, or colleagues.
Impact & Contributions
(Proof: Any of a combination of the following: Work samples, project reports, or employer feedback/ Short essay or video testimony explaining the challenges and how they were managed/ Leadership role documentation, work project, or community initiative/ Peer recommendations, feedback from team members, or mentoring logs)
6️⃣ Applies Learning from MMDC in the Workplace – Uses skills or knowledge gained from MMDC to improve work performance.
7️⃣ Demonstrates Resilience & Perseverance – Has overcome challenges while continuing studies and work.
8️⃣ Shows Leadership or Initiative – Has taken initiative at work, in academics, or in a community setting.
9️⃣ Positive Influence on Peers & Colleagues – Actively supports or mentors others in either school or work settings.
