As part of your practicum requirements at MMDC, you must be placed in a Host Training Establishment (HTE)—a company or organization where you’ll undergo supervised, real-world training related to your degree program.
Before your practicum can begin, MMDC must first accredit your proposed HTE and establish a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with them. This process is required by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to ensure the safety, relevance, and academic integrity of your internship experience.

Why Does the HTE Need to Be Accredited?
CHED requires that all HTEs be evaluated and approved by the Higher Education Institution (HEI), in this case MMDC/MMCL, through a formal accreditation process and a signed MOA.
This ensures that:
- The HTE is legally registered and reputable
- The training aligns with the learning outcomes of your program
- The HTE can provide a safe and structured learning environment
- Clear roles and responsibilities are defined for all parties
- Student rights, data privacy, and safety protocols are upheld
These are mandated under CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 104, s. 2017, which provides the national guidelines for Student Internship Programs in the Philippines (SIPP) across all degree programs with practicum components.
Who Is Involved in the Accreditation Process?
For HTE’s preferred by students which are not yet part of the current line up of partners of MMDC, the accreditation process is initiated
| Party | Responsibilities |
|---|---|
| Student | Proposes the HTE, secures required documents, and submits for review and approval. |
| Program Head (PH) | Reviews the HTE proposal and documents submitted by the student. Endorses the request to the Career Development Office (CDO). |
| MMDC’s Career Development Office (CDO) | Verifies completeness and compliance of submissions and facilitates the accreditation process together with the OSPAGE. |
| MMCL’s OSPAGE (Office for Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement) | Facilitates official HTE coordinations and MOA finalization. |
| HTE (Host Training Establishment) | Submits necessary accreditation documents, agrees to train students under specified conditions, and signs the MOA. |
| Higher Education Institution (HEI): MMDC under MMCL | Maintains official HTE registry, ensures CHED compliance, and oversees the execution of the MOA. |
Requirements for an HTE to be Accredited:
Under CHED CMO No. 104, the following are required before any internship can proceed:
- Valid SEC or DTI Registration and Business Permit of the HTE
- Logo
- Company Profile
- Agreement or Letter of Intent to signify HTEs interest to host interns from MMDC
It is also important that the HTE agrees to:
- Assign interns to tasks that align with the program’s internship/training plan relevant to the student’s field
- Nominate a designated supervisor or mentor for the student
- Promotes a safe and ethical work environment
- Enter into a MOA between the HEI and the HTE
- Complies with labor standards, data privacy laws, and safety protocols
The proposed HTE of the student must also first be presented to the Program Head or Practicum Coordinator for assessment and approval.
MMDC HTE Accreditation and MOA Process
This process may be initiated as early as one full term (3 months) before your intended practicum term.

📌 Note:
Requesting a Letter of Intent (LOI) for Your HTE Application
-
Some Host Training Establishments (HTEs) prefer a Letter of Intent (LOI) from MMDC before they accept your practicum application.
If the HTE you are applying to requests an LOI, you may request one from MMDC by sending an email to cdo@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph. Please include the following details in your email so the Career Development Officer can prepare the letter correctly:
Name of the company / HTE
Name of the contact person, if available
Designation or department of the contact person, if available
Email address or official contact information of the recipient, if available
You may also provide a link to their online website or other available online pages.
Our Career Development Officer will prepare the LOI and send it to you, which you can then forward to the HTE as part of your application.

2. It is recommended that the student verifies if they may be given an internship scope that aligns with their program's training plan.

See training plans:
3. Upload all documents to your Google Drive. Make sure the sharing settings allow anyone with the link to view.
4. Submit the link via the official Google Form provided. See GForm: 🔗 https://forms.gle/rFgVwDb1dyHJzwW39
5. Program Head reviews and endorses your proposal to the Career Development Office (CDO).
6. CDO, together with the OSPAGE processes the accreditation and MOA signing with the nominated HTE.
7. Once done, you will be notified once your HTE is accredited and ready for deployment.
Additional Reminders
- The internship proper may not commence until the HTE is officially accredited and a MOA is signed.
- Only complete submissions will be processed. Missing or invalid documents will delay approval.
- The MOA is a formal requirement and must be in place before any internship service is rendered.
- You are encouraged to start the process early to avoid delays in your practicum schedule.
If you have further questions, please contact your Program Head or the Career Development Office via cdo@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph.
