Welcome to Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC)!

Starting at MMDC means learning not only what you will study, but also how to learn successfully in a fully online college environment.

The MMDC New Student Orientation (NSO) is a two-week program designed to help new students understand how MMDC works, become familiar with the systems and resources they will use, know where to go when they need support, and develop the habits and practices that will help them succeed as MMDC learners.

The orientation will run from August 10 to 20, 2026 and will combine live online sessions, self-paced learning activities, and dedicated catch-up and Q&A sessions.

What You Can Expect from the New Student Orientation

By the end of the orientation, you should have a clearer understanding of:

• How learning works at MMDC and what you can expect as an online learner;
• The platforms, tools, and resources you will use throughout your studies;
• Important academic policies, processes, and student responsibilities;
• Where and how to get help when you need it;
• The services, programs, and opportunities available to MMDC students; and
• How you can make the most of your MMDC experience from your very first term.

More than an introduction to the school, MMDC's NSO is intended to give you the information and resources you need to start strong and navigate MMDC with greater confidence and independence.

How New Student Orientation Works

Your orientation will take place over two weeks, with three types of activities.

Live Online Sessions

Live sessions will introduce key topics, walk you through MMDC's systems and processes, and give you opportunities to interact with the MMDC team and other learners.

To accommodate different work, family, and personal schedules, each main synchronous session will be offered in two time slots: 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

You only need to attend one time slot. The morning and evening sessions are repeats and will cover the same content.

Self-Paced Learning

After selected live sessions, you will be assigned readings, videos, activities, or guides to complete on your own time.

These are an important part of your orientation and are intended to help you explore topics in greater detail and practice navigating the resources you will continue to use throughout your time at MMDC.

All assigned materials will be available through the New Student Orientation section of the MMDC Help Center.

Catch-Up, Q&A, and Live Troubleshooting

Dedicated catch-up sessions will also be available for questions, troubleshooting, and common concerns.

Use these sessions if you need clarification about something covered during orientation, encounter difficulty accessing your systems, or simply have questions as you begin your first term.

Your New Student Orientation Hub

The New Student Orientation section of the MMDC Help Center will serve as your central orientation hub.

Throughout the two weeks, return to this section to access your:

• Orientation schedule;
• Live session information;
• Assigned readings and videos;
• Guides and reference materials;
• Self-paced activities; and
• Other resources introduced during orientation.

We encourage you to bookmark this section. The resources you encounter during New Student Orientation are not only for your first two weeks—they are resources you can return to whenever you need guidance throughout your MMDC journey.

Make the Most of Your Orientation

New Student Orientation is designed to help you begin your first term with a better understanding of how MMDC works and how you can make MMDC work for you.

Attend the live sessions, complete the self-paced activities, explore the resources introduced to you, and bring your questions to the Q&A sessions.

Most importantly, use these two weeks to begin developing one of the most important skills of an MMDC learner: knowing how to find the information, resources, and support you need to move forward.
