NOTE: This feature is only available in Google Docs. You can propose changes to the document without affecting its original content. Your suggested changes won't be applied unless the document owner approves of the proposed changes. For you to be able to suggest edits, you must have edit or comment access to the document.
Step 1
Open your document in Google Docs.
Step 2
Make sure you are in Suggesting mode.
Step 3
Simply begin typing the proposed changes. Your suggestion will appear in a new color. Should there be any part of the document that you suggest to be deleted, it would appear to be crossed out. None of the original text will be deleted unless it is approved by the owner of the document.
Step 4
The document owner will be notified of your edit suggestions via email. When they click on the suggestion, they can Accept or Reject it.
