Overview
Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC) follows a three-term academic calendar, allowing students to begin their college journey at different points throughout the school year.
Whether you're a new student planning when to enroll, a continuing student preparing for your next term, or a working student balancing school with employment, family, and other commitments, understanding MMDC's academic calendar can help you plan ahead.
This guide explains how the school year is structured, how long each term lasts, when enrollment typically takes place, and what to expect between terms.
Important: The schedules below are general guides based on previous academic years. Exact dates and deadlines may change. Always refer to the official MMDC Calendar of Activities published for each term.
How is MMDC's school year structured?
MMDC has three academic terms per school year, instead of the traditional two-semester system.
| Academic Term | Typical Schedule |
|---|---|
| Term 1 | August to November or early December |
| Term 2 | December to March or early April |
| Term 3 | April to July or early August |
Students may begin their studies in Term 1, Term 2, or Term 3, subject to admission and enrollment requirements.
Each term has its own enrollment schedule, academic activities, assessments, deadlines, and final-grade posting.
How long is each academic term?
Each term is designed around approximately 14 academic weeks, covering onboarding, learning activities, coursework, assessments, and other academic requirements.
A typical term includes:
- Enrollment and registration – Students enlist in courses, finalize their enrollment, and complete applicable payment requirements before the term begins.
- Start of the academic term and onboarding – Students receive access to course materials, attend orientations, and prepare for their learning activities.
- Coursework and learning activities – Students participate in synchronous sessions, complete asynchronous learning activities, and work on their Problems, Projects, and Cases (PPC).
- Terminal assessments and completion activities – Students complete and submit final academic requirements according to the published deadlines.
- Final-grade posting – Students can view their final grades on the date announced in the official term calendar.
When does a term officially end?
For general planning, students may consider the scheduled final-grade posting as the concluding activity of the term.
However, the last day of coursework or assessment submission may be earlier than the final-grade viewing date. Always follow the specific deadlines published for your courses.
When does enrollment usually begin?
MMDC opens enrollment before the start of each academic term.
| Term | Enrollment typically begins |
|---|---|
| Term 1 | Late July to early August |
| Term 2 | Late November to early December |
| Term 3 | Early to mid-April |
Enrollment activities may include course enlistment, enrollment finalization, assessment of fees, payment, and course load revisions.
Enrollment periods are generally short, so students are encouraged to prepare ahead and monitor announcements.
For continuing students: Watch for final-grade posting and re-enrollment announcements, as enrollment for the succeeding term may begin shortly afterward.
For new students: Admission and enrollment are available across MMDC's three academic terms. Be sure to check the admission requirements and deadlines for your intended entry term. Admission processes may start as early as a month or 6 weeks earlier the start of the term.
Is there a break between academic terms?
Yes. There is generally a short transition period between the completion of one term's academic activities and the start of coursework for the next.
However, MMDC does not necessarily have a long school break between terms.
During this transition, students may already need to complete re-enrollment activities, settle fees, or prepare for the next term.
Term 2 also includes a scheduled holiday break around Christmas and New Year. The exact dates are announced in the official term calendar.
If you are planning travel, work commitments, or other personal activities, consider both the final assessment deadlines of your current term and the enrollment and start dates of the succeeding term.
When do classes actually begin?
The official calendar may distinguish between:
- Start of Term Activities: The beginning of scheduled academic activities, which may include onboarding, orientations, LMS access, and asynchronous coursework.
- Start of Synchronous Sessions: The date when scheduled live online class sessions begin.
These dates may be different.
Students should not assume that learning activities begin only when synchronous sessions start. Check your course materials and official announcements from the beginning of the academic term.
Where can I find the exact dates for my term?
MMDC publishes a Calendar of Activities for every academic term.
Each calendar includes important dates such as enrollment, academic term start, orientations, synchronous sessions, tuition payment deadlines, course revisions, dropping deadlines, assessments, holidays, and final-grade posting.

Students are encouraged to review the calendar before each term and save important dates in their personal calendars.
