MMDC Celebrates a Historic Milestone as Its First Graduates Prepare for Commencement

There are milestones that mark the passage of time, and there are milestones that define a beginning.

For Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC), August 20, 2026 represents both.

On this day, MMDC will celebrate the Commencement Exercises of its first graduates, joining the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (MMCL) community at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) to recognize students who have completed their academic journey and are ready to take the next step in their lives and careers.

It is a milestone that belongs not only to the College, but also to every learner who chose to believe in a different way of pursuing higher education.

Education Designed for Today’s Learners

MMDC was founded on a simple belief: education should create opportunities, not barriers.

Higher education should adapt to the realities of learners’ lives, allowing them to pursue a degree while continuing to fulfill their responsibilities at work, at home, and in their communities. Through its fully digital, Projects-Problems-and-Cases learning model, MMDC empowers students to learn anytime, anywhere—making quality education more accessible without requiring them to put the rest of their lives on hold.

Beyond earning a degree, MMDC aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, mindset, and confidence to step up in their careers, create opportunities for themselves and their families, at makamit ang kanilang sariling bersyon ng asenso.

For many of MMDC’s first graduates, that flexibility made earning a college degree possible. That opportunity, however, was only the beginning of the journey.

A Shared Learning Journey

The journey to this milestone was not without challenges.

For our students, pursuing a college education often meant balancing competing responsibilities while staying committed to their goals. Behind every graduate is a unique story of perseverance, sacrifice, resilience, and the determination to keep moving forward despite life’s demands.

For MMDC, these early years have also been a journey of learning.

As a young institution, we were not simply delivering education—we were learning how to better serve a new generation of learners. Every term brought new insights into who our students are, what they need to succeed, and how we could continuously improve the learning experience we provide.

Every conversation, every challenge, and every piece of feedback helped us become a better college.

In many ways, we grew together.

While our students were developing the knowledge, skills, confidence, and values they will carry throughout their careers, MMDC was continuously strengthening its programs, support systems, and learning environment for the many students who will follow.

Their success reminds us that talent and potential are everywhere. Sometimes, what learners need most is an opportunity that meets them where they are. 

That is what makes this first graduation so meaningful.

It is not simply the conclusion of an academic journey. It represents years of shared growth, continuous improvement, and the belief that education is strongest when institutions and students grow alongside one another. Today, that shared journey reaches one of its most meaningful milestones. 

A Historic Commencement

On August 20, 2026, MMDC will proudly celebrate its first graduates during the Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna Commencement Exercises at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

This ceremony marks the first commencement in MMDC’s history—a milestone made possible through the collective efforts of our students, faculty, staff, administrators, industry partners, and the families who supported our learners throughout their journey.

It will be more than a graduation ceremony.

It will be a celebration of every challenge overcome, every lesson learned, every opportunity created, and every person who chose to keep moving forward.
