What is the course credit evaluation process (Request for Credit Evaluation Form or RCEF)?
The Course Credit Evaluation process for transferees and shifters is an essential step when entering an educational institution with previous school experience or shifting from a different program within the institution. It involves the careful review and evaluation of academic records to determine the equivalency and transferability of previously earned credits.
This evaluation process ensures that students receive appropriate recognition, in the form of credited courses, for their prior coursework and have a clear understanding of how their educational history aligns with the requirements of the curriculum of the program they are enrolling in or shifting to. This aims to avoid unnecessary duplication of equivalent coursework and reduce the time and cost associated with completing a degree.
Approval of courses taken from other higher educational institutions is the sole discretion of MAPUA MALAYAN DIGITAL COLLEGE. MMDC reserves the right to credit courses.
Transferees are students who have previously attended another educational institution. The credit evaluation process should be completed within the initial term of the transferee. The initial term is the first term that the student is enrolled in MMDC.
Shifters, on the other hand, are students who intend to change their program and specialization from one to another within MMDC. The credit evaluation is an essential step in the shifting process to ensure the crediting of equivalent courses from their previous program towards the new one.
Requirements for Credit Evaluation
To proceed with the course credit evaluation process, please secure a digital copy of the following documents.
- RCEForm, duly filled out and signed by the student

Any of the following:
- Official Transcript of Records (TOR with grading system)

- Grade Certification (with grading system)
-
Certified True Copy of the TOR (with grading system)
Note: Make sure that the document contains the grading system of your previous school.

Note: The RCEForm is for transfer/shifter students who have earned credits from other higher educational institutions or a previous program.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Obtain the RCEForm:
Log in to your EnrollMate Account and download the Request for Credit Evaluation Form (RCEF).

File naming and submission guidelines
Before you submit your documents, make sure to rename them using the specified format. Follow the instructions below:
- RCEForm:
Format: RCEF-PROGRAM-LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, MIDDLE INITIAL-SYXX-XX-TermX
Example: RCEF-BSIT-DELA CRUZ, JUAN S-SY24-25-Term2
NOTE: Save the file in excel or sheets format.
- Transcript of Records (TOR) and Course Descriptions:
Format: RCEF-PROGRAM-DOCUMENT-LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, MIDDLE INITIAL-SYXX-XX-TermX
Example: RCEF-BSIT-TOR-DELA CRUZ, JUAN S-SY24-25-Term2
1. Gather Additional Requirements
Please make sure you have your Transcript of Records (TOR) and course descriptions for each subject you are seeking credit for.
NOTE: Failure to submit the required documents will result in the non-processing of your request, as the evaluators will have no basis for the assessment of your previous coursework experience. This will result in “Not Credited” or “No Credit” evaluation results.
However, if you lack the course description only, you may still choose to proceed with the evaluation, provided you explicitly state your willingness to undergo the evaluation without the said document. This means that the evaluation will rely solely on the information available from your Transcript of Records (TOR), which provides limited information. Students accept that this may result in no credit being awarded due to limited information. Course descriptions provide detailed information about the content and scope of each course, which the evaluators use for assessing the equivalency and alignment with the curriculum of MMDC.
2. Submission
Kindly submit the digital copies of the completed RCEForm, TOR, and course descriptions to your Admissions Advisor or, if the student is already enrolled, through email to records@mmdc.mcl.edu.ph. Please ensure the subject of your email is formatted as follows:
"Request for Credit Evaluation - Surname, First Name."
